JOB DESCRIPTION

Title:                                  Deputy Manager
Reports to:                        Centre Manager

                       
Budget Responsibility:     None
Based at:                           Port of Bristol Seafarers’ Centre
Hours of work:                 1pm - 10pm (3 days - 27 hours per week)

Job Purpose:                     To deliver a high standard of customer service, within the seafarer centre. You will be a confident ambassador for the Centre.

Salary:        £8.20 - £8.35 per hour                        


Centre Responsibilities:

To oversee the needs of the visiting seafarers and other eligible visitors using the Centre.
To ensure the recording of visitor numbers, helping to maintain monthly statistics.
To ensure the retail shop operation, ensuring stock and cash controls are in place and such controls are properly complied with.
The sale and activation of SIM cards.
To safeguard the assets of the Centre including stock, cash and all centre equipment. Ensuring the security of the building is maintained.
To ensure that all cash and other forms of payment received is properly managed, checked and held securely according to laid down procedures and to the satisfaction of the Treasurer.
To ensure all Healthy & Safety procedures are complied with including recognised standards of food and beverage hygiene.
To ensure the proper use of the Centre minibus.
To ensure that the Centre is properly maintained in a clean and tidy, presentable fashion at all times, encouraging a cheerful and welcoming atmosphere.
Any other duties appropriate to the role as requested by the Centre Manager or Chairman.
To ensure Volunteers are used to best effect.
To be aware of and encourage the Christian ethos of the Charity.
